EIANZ invites you to this webinar which will give a project overview examining the use of Oakley the conservation detector dog to locate noxious alligator weed (AW) (Alternanthera philoxeroides) in known infestations across Victoria. AW is a Weed of National Significance (WoNS) and is regarded as one of the worst weeds in Australia due to its invasiveness and environmental and economic impacts. This presentation will detail the survey results and examine the lessons learnt over the first two years of the project, as we trained and trialled a professional detector dog to assist with AW eradication efforts.
