I’m a trained ecologist and have been training/working Atticus since 2023. I use pink kong as a training material. He is also imprinted on Dingo scat (started). We are currently working on a project to detect matted flax-lily (Dianella amoena) along the Merri Creek (north of Melbourne). Please reach out if you have a project that requires a diligent and careful dog finding a cryptic (low odour) species, as that’s his gem. He’s got a solid emergency stop and has been trained to avoid snakes.
Atticus is 5 years old. He is a shorthaired border collie x NZ heading dog with a ton of drive. Ball, food and tug toy motivated. He’s competitive and loves to perform. He has long legs and moves quite carefully around the environment as he searches. He takes guidance but is also super independent and backs himself. Crate trained and travels well.
