I am a Senior Zoologist with four years professional experience working as an ecologist over a variety of projects in NSW. Backed by over 15 years of professional experience with companion animals, my background in animal behaviour and training and my passion for wildlife conservation naturally led me into conservation detection work, where I have been handling and working my conservation detection dog for the past two years. Together, we specialise in koala scat detection, combining strong field ecology skills with practical, ethical dog handling to deliver reliable survey outcomes.
Monty is a three year old Working Cocker Spaniel who joined me at five months old from breeding lines selected for high drive and strong work ethic. He is a focused, enthusiastic detector with a genuine love for the job, and is reliable and safe when working around wildlife and livestock. His absolute favourite reward is his plush duck which he will do anything for, which makes him highly motivated and consistent in the field. When he’s not working, Monty lives with me as a much loved pet, switching easily from dedicated conservation detection dog to relaxed companion at home.
