James has over 20 years’ experience as a professional working dog trainer / handler. He originally trained professional gun / hunting dogs before moving into conservation detection / dispersals dogs in 2016. A wildlife biologist and ethologist, James now specialises in invasive wildlife management and human-wildlife conflict, primarily relating to canids.
James holds a Masters degree in Business and is currently undertaking further postgraduate studies in wildlife biology and ethology. He is a qualified occupational (commercial) diver and a PRINCE2-qualified project manager.
James is currently researching training protocols for canine snake avoidance.
Banjo is a 4 year old Working Cocker Spaniel. He has exceptional drive, intelligence and work rate, and is currently imprinted on live fox (den). He has previously detected scat and flora species.
Scout is a 2 year old English Springer Spaniel from strong working lines. He is currently imprinted on live fox dens and is being imprinted with turtle nests.
