I am currently a conservation detection dog handler with Skylos Ecology. I am a qualified ecologist with a varied background in flora and fauna surveys, as well as experience in animal behaviour. I also work at a local council assessing proposed vegetation removal as part of planning applications.
In the past I have helped with the Otway Conservation Dog program in a volunteer capacity during an internship with the Conservation Ecology Centre.
I have experience in targeted flora and fauna surveys, habitat hectare assessments (VQA qualified), biodiversity surveys, land management practices including weed control and tree planting, and customer service in the pet retail industry.
Boppa (in training) is a German shorthaired pointer x border collie. We rescued her at about six months old and she is now four years old.
Boppa is learning red cestrum at home as a training scent. She is not suited to open field work at this stage but will do well in a controlled environment.
